نیویارک پولیس ہیڈ کوارٹر میں رمضان کانفرنس ، مسلم کمیونٹی کو ماہ رمضان میں سہولیات کا اعلان

رمضان کانفرنس میں پولیس کمشنر سمیت پولیس حکام کی جانب سے مسلم کمیونٹی کو رمضان کی آمد پر مبارکباد دی گئی اور کہا گیا کہ ماہ رمضان کی صبر ، استقامت ، اپنے وسائل دوسروں کے ساتھ شئیر کرنے جیسی ااقدار قابل ستائش ہیں

نیویارک ( محسن ظہیر سے ) نیویارک پولیس ہیڈ کوارٹر میں حسب روایت اس سال بھی ماہ رمضان کی آمد کے موقع پر ”رمضان کانفرنس “ کا اہتمام کیا گیا۔ ون پولیس پلازہ میں منعقدہ رمضان کانفرنس میں پولیس کمشنر جیسیکا ٹش سمیت اعلیٰ پولیس حکام ، امام صاحبان ، مسلم امریکن پولیس ایگزیکٹوز اور آفیسرز اور مسلم امریکن کمیونٹی قائدین نے بڑی تعداد میں شرکت کی ۔ کانفرنس کا آغاز تلاوت قرآن مجید اور امریکی ترانے کے ساتھ کیا گیا۔
رمضان کانفرنس میں پولیس کمشنر سمیت پولیس حکام کی جانب سے مسلم امریکن کمیونٹی کو ماہ رمضان کی آمد پر مبارکباد دی گئی اور کہا گیا کہ ماہ رمضان کی صبر ، استقامت ، اپنے وسائل دوسروں کے ساتھ شئیر کرنے جیسی ااقدار قابل ستائش ہیں ۔
کانفرنس میںنیویارک پولیس ڈیپارٹمنٹ میں خدمات انجام دینے والے مسلم امریکن پولیس ایگزیکٹوز ،آفیسرز ، پولیس چیپلن اور امام صاحبان و کمیونٹی قائدین کی جانب سے پولیس ہیڈ کوارٹرز میں رمضان کانفرنس اور مسلم امریکن کمیونٹی کو نیویارک میں ماہ رمضان کے دوران افطاری اور نماز تراویح کے مواقع پر خدمات کی فراہمی کے سلسلے میں خدمات کو خراج تحسین پیش کیا گیا۔
واضح رہے کہ نیویارک پولیس ڈیپارٹمنٹ میں تین ہزار سے زائد مسلم امریکن ، ایگزیکٹوز اور آفیسرز کے طور پر خدمات انجام دے رہے ہیں جبکہ پاکستانی امریکن پولیس آفیسرز کی تعداد سات سو کے قریب ہے ۔5لاکھ سے زائد آبادی کے شہر نیویارک میں تقریباً ایک ملین مسلمان آباد ہیں جو کہ مذہبی روایات اور اقدار کے مطابق ماہ رمضان عقیدت و احترا م کے ساتھ مناتے ہیں ۔ نیویارک پولیس ڈیپارٹمنٹ کی جانب سے ماہ رمضان کے دوران مسلم کمیونٹی کو نمازوں کے اوقات کے دوران بالخصوص افطاری اور نماز تراویح کے موقع پر خصوصی خدمات فراہم کی جاتی ہیں ۔
یہ امر بھی قابل ذکر ہے کہ نیویارک سٹی کے سابق مئیر ایرک ایڈمز کے دور میں مسلم امریکن کمیونٹی کو نماز فجر اور نماز مغرب ( بالخصوص تراویح ) کے موقع پر مساجد میں لاو¿ڈ سپیکر پر اذان دینے کی اجازت ہے ۔

NYPD Hosts Annual Ramadan Conference at Police Headquarters

Continuing its long-standing tradition, the New York Police Department (NYPD) hosted its annual Ramadan Conference at Police Headquarters to mark the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan. The conference was held at One Police Plaza and brought together senior police leadership, Muslim American police executives and officers, religious leaders, and community representatives.

The program opened with an invocation by Imam Tahir Kukiqi of the NYPD Chaplains Unit, followed by the recitation of the Holy Quran and the United States national anthem.

Police Commissioner Jessica S. Tisch delivered welcoming remarks, extending heartfelt greetings to the Muslim American community on the advent of Ramadan. She emphasized the values of patience, perseverance, compassion, and sharing with others, noting that these principles strengthen both communities and institutions.

An intelligence briefing was presented by Deputy Commissioner Rebecca Weiner of the Intelligence & Counterterrorism Bureau, along with Intelligence Research Specialist Grace Bristol, who provided insights into public safety, community awareness, and ongoing efforts to protect New York City’s diverse population.

A hate crimes briefing followed, led by Captain Bekim Becaj, Commanding Officer of the NYPD Hate Crimes Unit, who discussed the department’s approach to preventing and responding to bias-related incidents and reaffirmed the NYPD’s commitment to protecting all faith communities.

Speaking on behalf of Muslim officers, Lieutenant Ali Hammutoglu, Vice President of the Muslim Officers Society, highlighted the contributions of Muslim American officers within the NYPD and expressed appreciation for the department’s continued support of religious inclusion and accommodation during Ramadan.

Muslim American police executives, officers, chaplains, imams, and community leaders praised the NYPD for organizing the Ramadan Conference at Police Headquarters and for providing essential services to the Muslim community across New York City, particularly during iftar gatherings and Taraweeh prayers throughout the holy month.

It was noted that more than 3,000 Muslim Americans serve in the NYPD as executives and officers, including nearly 700 Pakistani American police officers. New York City, home to approximately one million Muslims, observes Ramadan with deep devotion and respect for religious traditions.

During Ramadan, the NYPD provides special services and accommodations to support prayer schedules, especially around iftar and Taraweeh prayer times, ensuring safety and community cooperation.

The conference concluded with closing prayers led by Imam Tahir Kukiqi of the NYPD Chaplains Unit.

It is also noteworthy that during the tenure of former New York City Mayor Eric Adams, permission was granted for mosques to broadcast the Adhan (call to prayer) over loudspeakers during Fajr and Maghrib prayers, particularly for Taraweeh, reflecting the city’s commitment to religious freedom and inclusion.
