نیویارک ( اردونیوز) نیویارک سٹی میں رواں ماہ کے دوران پرائمری الیکشن ہونے جا رہے ہیں ۔ ان الیکشن میں امیگرنٹ کمیونٹی سے تعلق رکھنے والے ووٹرز کو کیا حقوق حاصل ہیں ؟ اس سلسلے یں اردو بولنے والی کمیونٹی کے لیے ووٹنگ کے حقوق اور زبان سے متعلق سہولتوں پر ایک خصوصی آگاہی ورکشاپ کا انعقاد کیا جا رہا ہے۔ اس ورکشاپ میں شرکاءکو نیویارک سٹی میں ووٹنگ کے حقوق، انتخابی عمل میں دستیاب لسانی معاونت، اور ووٹرز کے لیے فراہم کی جانے والی سہولتوں کے بارے میں معلومات دی جائیں گی۔
یہ پروگرام ایشین امریکن انسٹی ٹیوٹ فار ریسرچ اینڈ انگیج منٹ (AAIRE) کے زیر اہتمام منعقد کیا جا رہا ہے جبکہ نیو یارک سٹی سوک انگیج منٹ کمیشن بھی اس میں معاونت فراہم کرے گا۔
ورکشاپ شیرازی ریسٹورنٹ کوینز میں منعقد ہوگی، منتظمین نے اردو بولنے والے افراد سے شرکت کی اپیل کی ہے تاکہ وہ اپنے ووٹنگ حقوق اور انتخابی عمل میں دستیاب لسانی سہولتوں سے بھرپور آگاہی حاصل کر سکیں۔ورکشاپ کے منتظمین کی جانب سے پاکستانی امریکن کمیونٹی سمیت اردو بولنے والی امیگرنٹ کمیونٹی کے ارکان کو ورکشاپ میں شرکت کی دعوت عام دی گئی ہے اور کہا گیا ہے کہ کمیونٹی ارکان ورکشاپ میں شریک ہوں اور اپنے حقوق کے بارے میں اہم آگاہی حاصل کریں ۔

AAIRE Announces Urdu-Language Workshop on Voting Rights and Language Access Ahead of NYC Primary Elections

NEW YORK (Urdu News) – With New York City’s primary elections approaching later this month, a special workshop has been announced to help immigrant voters better understand their voting rights and the language assistance services available to them at the polls.

The Urdu-language workshop, scheduled for Saturday, June 14, is being organized by the Asian American Institute for Research and Engagement (AAIRE) in collaboration with the New York City Civic Engagement Commission.

The event is designed to educate Urdu-speaking community members about their voting rights, the election process, and the language access services available to voters in New York City. Participants will learn how language assistance can help them navigate the voting process and ensure that they can fully exercise their democratic rights.

The workshop will be held at Shirazi Restaurant in Queens, and organizers have extended an open invitation to members of the Pakistani American community as well as other Urdu-speaking immigrant communities.

Organizers said the program aims to empower voters by providing important information about their rights and available resources ahead of the upcoming elections. Community members are encouraged to attend and take advantage of this opportunity to gain a better understanding of the electoral process and the language support services available to them.
